I’m always surprised how much effort it takes to remember things, even events that have happened recently. It’s only been a couple of weeks since we’ve been to Japan but it feels like months ago. This made me reflect on our lives in the past twelve months and they certainly haven’t been dull.

  • Made a major move from the city of York to the Scottish village of Birnam, while David’s parents moved to the other side of the country to Cornwall
  • Went back to the states, saw Chicago, and got married
  • Mum and Dad visit
  • Started eating meat again
  • Drove 12 hours to have Christmas with David’s family (including Justin who had just gotten to the UK a couple months before)
  • Finally got a job in the food industry
  • Went on a two week holiday to Japan
  • Now making another major move from little village of Birnam to tiny Dorset village of Litton Cheney

That’s enough to last most people several years I think. I look forward to a period of doing less stressful things like tending to the garden, cooking, knitting, and laying around the beach.
